Parent’s Association
We are very fortunate in Clondra National School to have an active and dedicated Parent’s Association. The Parent’s Association is a structure through which parents can work with the school in the best interest of the children. The Parent’s Association works with the Principal, staff and Board of Management to build co-operation between home and school.
All parents in the school are members of the PA. These parents select a committee to work on their behalf from one year to the next.
As well as their great fundraising work, the PA contribute to the formation of our school policies and provide a communication link between the parents and the school. We urge all parents to support the PA by attending meetings and giving just a couple of hours of your time to help with their activities. The PA is a valuable link between the school and parents and a great way of keeping in touch with what’s going on in the school. PA meetings are open to all and a text is sent to parents before all meetings.
The Parents’ Association have subsidised the cost of swimming, school tours and other events.
Have a look at some of the activities the PA were involved with last year by clicking on the link below.
The Parents’ Association regularly help with/organise:
- School concert and raffle
- Prizes for our Easter Egg Hunt
- Subsidise the costs of Swimming (total cost of bus), School Tour (bus and food for the children) and English, Irish and Maths resources for the children.
- Organise their own fundraising events.
- Helped with the formulation of new school policies.
The Parents’ Association are always looking for people to get involved. Please come along to their next meeting. Just a couple of hours of your time could make a big difference to the school!
